Police Officer – Entry Level

The City of Riverside, Ohio is accepting applications for entry level Police Officer.

This position is responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances set by the State of Ohio and City of Riverside. Work involves prevention, detection and investigation of accident and criminal activities, security and safety of prisoners, protection for the public and maintenance of law and order. Officers must be able to act without direct supervision in emergency situations.

Qualified applicants must be at least 21 years of age (at time of appointment), OPOTC certified and have no felony record. Applicants must also demonstrate an excellent work history and a passion for community involvement. All applicants must undergo polygraph, drug screen, background investigation and physical fitness testing.

A $10 fee, to cover the cost of the written exam, will be collected at the time of application submittal. Applications are due by May 18, 2017 at 4:00 pm. The written examination will take place on May 20, 2017 at 8:00 am at Mad River Middle School.

The City of Riverside, Ohio Police Department is accepting applications for Lateral Transfer Police Officer. This position is responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances set by the State of Ohio and City of Riverside. Officers must be able to act without direct supervision in emergency situations.

Qualified applicants must be least 21 years of age (at time of appointment), OPOTC certified and have at least one year of public law enforcement experience. She/he must also demonstrate excellent work history and a passion for community involvement. All applicants must undergo polygraph, drug screen, background investigation and physical fitness testing.
